You cover the mighty Himalayas
With your enchanting embrace
The murmuring notes of the pleasing aroma
The gorgeous flowers of white and orange rust
How you tantalize the passer byes
With a fragrance that rejuvenate the senses
The birds chirp playfully
The couple struck by the cupid
Snuggles in affection and sighs
My eyes are closed since long
To smell you oh so divine
And cherish while I can
The attar that can’t be described in words
But can be romanticized in a song
The above lines have been penned down by me in the praise of Hedychium Spicatum which is commonly known as Sweet Snow or Kapur Kachri. The fragrant flowers can be found in the Himalayas. The beautiful white flowers with a rusted orange base are a beautiful sight for sure. But wait till you breathe in the magical aroma that is released by these flowers.
I found the flowers on the slopes of Kasauli. The sight itself was beautiful and can’t be described in words. But as soon as the spicy yet delicate notes of fragrance hits you, you would want to escape out in your fantasy world.
I believe that the delightful scent can definitely be used as the base note of the aerated deodorants or perfumes. These days, we don’t find much difference among the fragrances of different brands. The reason is because the same elements are used to combine the fragrances. Utilizing the scent of Sweet Snow, one can certainly create a sweet difference.

ReplyLovely poem Anmol. We often forget our other senses when we "see" beauty. Thank you for the reminder to engage my sense of smell as well, likely the most powerful of all the senses.
