Kiss Miss

First date and first kiss. Yes, they are one of the most memorable things in your lives. Especially because of all the romantic movies and novels. What if both of the things happen on the same day? Will it be more romantic? Will it be more memorable? Sure as hell it will be but you can’t curse enough if you lose out on that opportunity of making a memory due to your stupidity.

I always thought that the unshaven face look was in the trend. So, I liked to keep it that way. Somehow that made me feel more macho. I even thought that girls go crazy for unshaved faces (a bad assumption). But I learnt it the hard way.

It was my first date with my girlfriend and we were out for a romantic Bollywood movie. Now, one must believe that watching movies hand in hand is one of the perfect idea of the first date. You feel close to each other and that closeness acts as a highly reactive enzyme in the chemistry between the couple.

Everything was great until an emotional scene made way (clichéd) into the movie and I could hear her sniff. She was actually crying for the hero who could not meet her beloved. That was the moment I took liberty to kiss on her cheek and tell her that I love her. I felt a smile spread across her dimly lit face. She turned her face towards me and gradually approached for our first kiss.

“Ouch” was what I heard before our lips could meet. It was my stubble and it ruined everything. The whole time after that while she was busy watching the movie, I was busy cursing myself for not shaving before meeting her. I missed out on what could have been an everlasting memory that day. It’s fun when I recall that incident today.
